Busy

Basketball season has hit our household again. Last year my daughter played for a Rep team and I helped coach the team. It was a very positive experience for both of us. My son didn't make the team last season so I decided to make sure they both got the experience this year. The only way to accomplish this was to agree to coach both teams. I didn't know what I was letting myself in for.

I love to coach. Seeing kids pick up the skills and the expressions on their face when they realize they are performing the skill properly is just amazing. The teaching side of coaching is what I really enjoy. Politicking, administration and budgeting are things I don't like. As a head coach I get plenty of each.

But so far I am still glad I have taken on these tasks. I am exhausted but happy. So long as the kids get something positive out of it, I'll be happy.
